Ceilidhs

High Energy English Ceilidh - our main activity as a band.

Workshops

Nick and Mary Barber ran a very popular Big Band Workshop at Sidmouth Folk Week for many years, in which Mary and Anahata assisted.

Nick has run workshops in melodeon playing.

Mary and Anahata have run musicians' workshops ranging from a single half-morning session to an extended (Easter) weekend, on topics such as tunes from the Fens, playing in harmony and playing for dancing.

Concert Appearances

Mary and Anahata have extensive experience of performing traditional songs and tunes in folk clubs and on festival concert platforms.

The band has also done concert spots with Nick and Mary Barber playing tunes as a duo and have some song arrangements for the whole band.

Hosting Sessions

All band members are experienced in hosting and leading English music sessions at festivals.

Weddings

Ouside of the folk dance and festival scene, we can play for weddings. As well as the obvious wedding ceilidh as part of your reception party, we can play a mixture of lively and gentler music to accompany your ceremony.

At the Suffolk Folk day of Folk at the Riverside Centre, Stratford St. Andrews, Suffolk, Where English Rebellion ran a workshop, performed in the afternoon concert and played the evening ceilidh.
